Frequently Asked Questions About Sugar Waxing
1. What is sugaring or sugar waxing?
Sugaring is a natural method of hair removal using a paste made from sugar, lemon, and water. It gently removes hair from the root while exfoliating the skin, leaving it smooth and less irritated than traditional waxing.

2. Is sugaring better than traditional waxing?
Many clients find sugaring less painful and more gentle on the skin. Unlike traditional wax, sugar paste sticks to hair—not live skin—so it's ideal for sensitive areas and reduces the chance of irritation, ingrown hairs, and redness.
3. Does sugaring hurt?
Any hair removal from the root can cause discomfort, but sugaring is generally considered less painful than waxing. The paste is applied at body temperature and doesn’t stick to live skin, which makes it more tolerable, especially with consistent appointments.

4. What areas can be sugared?
Almost anywhere! Common areas include:
-
Brazilian / Bikini
-
Legs
-
Underarms
-
Face (brows, lips, chin)
-
Back and chest
Sugaring is safe and effective for most areas of the body.

5. How long does my hair need to be for sugaring?
Hair should be about the length of a grain of rice—approximately 1/8 of an inch (or 10–14 days of growth after shaving). Too short and the sugar paste can’t grip it properly; too long and it may be more uncomfortable.
6. How often should I get sugared?
Every 3 to 5 weeks is ideal. With regular appointments, your hair will grow back finer, softer, and more sparse over time.

7. Is sugaring safe for sensitive skin?
Yes! Sugaring is made of simple, natural ingredients and doesn’t contain resins, chemicals, or additives. It’s ideal for sensitive skin, and many people with skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis prefer it over traditional waxing.
8. Can I get sugared while pregnant?
Absolutely! Sugaring is safe during pregnancy. We always recommend checking with your doctor first, especially in your third trimester, and let your technician know so we can take extra care during your service.

9. How should I prepare for my appointment?
-
Lightly exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment
-

-

10. What should I do after my sugaring session?
-
Avoid heat (hot tubs, saunas, workouts) for 24 hours
-
Skip tight clothing to prevent irritation
-
Gently exfoliate starting 2–3 days after to prevent ingrown hairs
-
Stay moisturized with fragrance-free lotion

11. Can sugaring permanently reduce hair growth?
While not permanent like laser hair removal, consistent sugaring over time can significantly reduce hair density and regrowth, making each session easier and quicker.
12. Is sugaring sanitary?
Yes! We never double-dip. Our sugar paste is applied with a gloved hand and discarded after each use. The sugar itself is naturally antibacterial, making it a safe and hygienic method of hair removal.
